Lads / Ladets,

One of the best things i have purchased for my EUC rides has been this thing. On amazon they are around £10 but you can find them for £5 on ebay.

Being able to lift my arm up and take a peak behind me makes me a lot more confident when navigating around traffic. I normally have a big camping rucksack on and so cannot look completly behind me when riding.

Something worth considering as a stocking filler for Xmas i think ;-)

KS-S18 Delay in the UK. Well, I placed an order for the S-18 on early September With SpeedyFeet, and I was given and ETA of 2 weeks. It has now been 7 weeks since the order and Ian has told me that HMRC has blocked the release of goods because they are checking documentation for "test reports and Declarations of Conformity". I have checked other EUC suppliers and they all seem to be out of stock and awaiting supplies (so this isn't restricted to SpeedyFeet). I have recieved Photo's of goods recieved from port, by SpeedyFeet, so I know that SpeedyFeet want to release the goods ASAP. Unfortunatly, they seem to be stuck in the middle KS and HMRC. Ian has replied to all of my emails thus far (and provided photographic evidence, of goods recieved- without me needing to prompt for for it), so I am confident in his service. What i am trying to find out is whether HMRC have yet to recieve documentation from KS (so KS fault for the delay), or if HMRC have recieved documentation from KS and are just being the typical slow British bureaucratic system, putting halloween and fireworks shipments as a higher priority over a eco friendly and planet saving form of transport like a EUC.

Ok, I may be biased because I want my KS-S18 (but I know noone here will blame me), but some feedback on where the pressure needs to be placed would be great. I am more than happy to phone up HMRC on behalf of the UK KS-18 suppliers and try and move matters along (if that is where the problem is).

So, safety gear for my S-18 is a must. I learned to ride my Ninebot with only a cycle helmet and some gloves - and while it is true that serious injury can occure at any speed... I think we can all agree that it is far less likely at the speeds that the Ninebot One can give. There are a lot of cheap gear on amazon which i just don't trust, so I am looking for Helmet, Wrist Guards and Shin Guards, that can be found in the UK.

One thing about the helmet - Hsiang sometimes seems to feature an open face helmet but with a single solid chin bar, in his videos. This is the style I am after (Similar to a POC Artic SL 360° Spin Ski Race Helmet). Everything else is really just about quality (does it work when it really matters).

Any feedback will be appriciated, and i'm sure others will find this useful as well.

I was pondering on the cut out issues at speed for EUC's, and i was wondering that the main issue is down to a sudden voltage drop from the power supply. now, what if EUC's had a small array of super-capacitors that could provide a Life-Saver 1 shot boost to the voltage + current to force the rider back hard and warn the rider that their extra life is now depleted. When the rider is forced back, the motor starts to act as a generator so that should help the system stay stable until a sensible speed is reached.

You do not need an array of supercapacitors to fulfill the entire workload of the battery, just a boost to make up the voltage difference (Maybe 24V and 3A for 1 second on the larger systems (no i have not checked if these figures are correct, I am just mussing this idea)). If i understand correctly, 1F of capacitance = 1A per second, so it sounds like you need a lot of capacitors to pull this off... but then we realise that we still have the battery providing current which offsets the requirement.

I was also thinking that the capacitors would only be charged via the mains to prevent aditional strain on an already weak battery.

This is just my mussings and it may be the case that it is impracticle for many reasons that i do not understand from an electronics / cost point of view... but if someone out there has some Electrical knowledge far superiour to my 20 year old Secondary School curcuit training - then i will be interested in what they think...

Well... it turns out that STANCE MATTERS. On my Ninebot One S2, I changed my foot position so that my heels were on the back of the plate (or slightly over sometimes by 8mm) so my toes were completly over the front plate (yes, it feels wierd initially)... And guess what, my control of the wheel increased (i felt comfortable going 12MPH instead of 9MPH) and my foot fatigue decreased by about 40%.

Just to mention that i wear size 10 UK trainers :-)
