Hey there All,
I’ve been recommended to sign up, so here I am.
Thanks for all the amazingly useful posts, it’s just what the doctor ordered! I am currently looking to buy a wheel for my countryside commute and for fun on the trails (coastal woodland/farm tracks but with a lot of flint….eeek!) at the weekends. The KS16X currently looks like The One, but I’m open to suggestions, hence why I’m reading up and ‘watching up’ like crazy here and on YouTube.
If anyone knows of a second hand KS16 coming up for sale in A1 mechanical condition I’d be all ears.
Similarly, are there any groups, riders in the N.Norfolk vicinity of the UK- I’d love to meet up or at least get in touch.
Many thanks for all the fun, past present and in the future!

If you are looking for range and constant power delivery over most of the batterylife you could also throw your eyes on Begode/Gotway Tesla, V2 for water resistance and less weight, T3 for larger battery ... and overall for less money :-) - no matter 2nd hand or new
Many thanks for responding, great to know you’re in Suffolk- whereabouts may I ask?
It’s interesting Trapper suggested the GotwayTesla2 as I watched Speedyfeet’s video on that before and liked the sound of it’s performance. Seemed a good mix of trail and tarmac but they’re currently out of stock.
Haven’t checked out secondhand yet.
I did find that £900 KS16 you mentioned- the only thing is there was plenty of interest but the seller doesn’t seem to respond and it’s been advertised for ages. I just assumed perhaps she’d decided not to sell.
It also looks pretty knocked about. I’d def replace the pads which is no big deal I know.
Also I’m pretty new to all of this and haven’t got much of an idea about second hand values, tbh the fact it’s still being advertised did make me a bit suspicious.
What did you start out on and did you jump in and buy brand new to begin with?
In many ways buying brand new and getting the warranty and buy back guarantee Speedyfeet offers is quite reassuring as someone new to these machines.
I really want to say thanks for your welcome and helpful suggestions. It was reassuring and encouraging to read that you rate the KS16X as good place to start for mixed surfaces and newbies. Cheers.
The Gotway Tesla did catch my attention in one of Speedyfeet’s videos before I’d seen the KS16X. Seemed to be a good dual purpose machine.
I think I keep going back to the KS16X as I’m not very heavy just over 50kg and worry about controlling a bigger heavier wheel, also it is in stock at Speedyfeet and the Gotway isn’t at the mo…tho I’m sure they’ll be along soon!
The other major temptation for similar money to the KS16X is the KS18 with suspension and extremely hot looks. That said, is the suspension and the setting of, going to be more of a hindrance than helping of heaven….?
On cobblestones and likewise, any suspension is nice and smooth.
In my personal opinion a wheel without suspension makes the first two weeks easier since you have to learn to control the wheel with micro movements. Beginners shift their weight too coarse in the very beginning. But learning the wheel is no rocketscience and you will def learn it with or without suspension. No worries.
The Telsa is the most overlooked wheel I suppose. It is nimble, twitchy, lightweight and powerful while delivering a good water resistance ... not the fastest wheel but giving a good amount of power throughout the charge. Kingsong, KS 16 as well as S18, will reduce power at a quite early stage of about 50 % remaining battery life which in my case is a severe showstopper, while others do not blame this behavior. You will have to decide for yourself. Anyway, suspension draws more battery and the batteries of Kingsong and Inmotion are quite small ... again for my usecase :-)
Once you survive the first learning steps, riding the wheel is like flying on a magical carpet and makes you happy ... I promise :-)
One last thought: I also own a mten 3 and can do all of my tracks also with this tiny wheel. Main difference in comparison to the RS - apart from speed, range and acceleration - is that I need to pause after some 20 km, whereas the RS is just easy gliding.
As a newbie I tried some wheels but did not come to a fair decision by that. I was not able to tell the difference because my skills were too poor. Bought the Tesla, still love it but currently sell it, because my dog became too fast to do the daily dogwalking with the Tesla any more. If you want to learn from this: make up your mind, buy a wheel, learn riding and if you feel some features or power missing, sell the wheel and make a different decision based on experience and knowledge. Do not start with a small and weak wheel.
He said there are other knobbys available which do not have to be cut :-)

You said that no matter which I bought, riding an EUC would be like riding on a magic carpet-
Goodness, how right you are!!! Yesterday’s ride was like an amazing dream! Thanks so much for the passion 🥰🙃 it’s spot on!
Funnily enough, I’ve been thinking about you too- wondering what you’ve been up ride wise and how the knobbly has worked out?
In the end, (March 1st) I went for the KS S18 and so far sooo very good! Every ride is an improvement on the last, I’m beginning to ride the kind of terrain I had in mind and the wheel is coping fine even when the rider isn’t quite up to scratch!
Hope you’ve been able to get out on your wheel and enjoy this lovely weather.
